CCIQ SURVEY   Qld State Govt Proposes HOLIDAYS ACT changes     Sept 2016
adding another Public Holiday for Easter Sunday 2017++ imposing significant added costs

Please let CCIQ know how this will affect YOUR Business so CCIQ can advocate for best
outcome for Small Business

CCIQ urgently needs your help.  The Queensland State Government is seeking to amend
the Holidays Act 1983 to create an additional public holiday for Easter Sunday in Queensland.

A new public holiday for Easter Sunday 2017 & on, will impose significant additional costs
on small business through increased wage rates as a result of penalty rate loadings
.

For example penalty rate loadings for retail workers will increase from 200% to 250%,
& for hospitality workers it will increase from 175% to 250%
.
For more information on the penalty rate increases please click here

CCIQ asks BIWCC Chamber to forward the survey to our retail & hospitality members to
examine how the proposed change will impact on them.

BWCC Chamber Members & local Inner West businesses participation will ensure CCIQ
can collectively reflect Small Business' views in a submission to the Queensland Legislative
Assembly, as well as public hearings throughout the consultation process.

Survey Closes Friday 23 September 2016    CCIQ will ensure that BIWCC is fully briefed
as they progress through our advocacy on this issue.

Have YOUR SAY   Hot Topic:  Shop Trading Hours

"Queensland has one of the most complex shop trading hours frameworks in the country.
The system is difficult to navigate & interpret & creates confusion among business owners.
Some aspects of the current regulatory framework unfairly disadvantage those that it seeks to
protect, small business, imposing a significant compliance & financial burden on their operations"

"Accordingly CCIQ wishes to understand business views on core issues relating to the current
framework & seeks your Chamber?s support"

"Any assistance you can provide in distributing the survey would be greatly appreciated"
